When your loved one needs help with bathing, dressing, or daily routines, our caregivers provide respectful, hands-on support that preserves their independence and dignity in the comfort of their own home.

When daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and grooming become difficult, it can feel like independence is slipping away. Personal care from Happy to Help helps your loved one maintain their routine, their dignity, and their confidence without leaving home.

Our caregivers are trained to provide respectful, hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing and showering, dressing and undressing, grooming and oral hygiene, toileting and incontinence care, mobility and transfer assistance, and positioning for comfort. Every interaction is guided by patience, kindness, and respect for your loved one's preferences.

Personal care isn't just about physical tasks. It's about preserving the quality of life your loved one deserves. Our caregivers build trust over time, learn your loved one's preferences, and provide consistent support that helps them feel safe and cared for every day.

Common Questions

Personal Care FAQ

Is personal care the same as home health care?
No. Personal care is non-medical assistance with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. Home health care involves medical services like wound care or physical therapy, which require a doctor's order. Happy to Help provides non-medical personal care only.
Will my loved one feel comfortable with a personal care aide?
We understand this is a sensitive transition. Our caregivers are trained in respectful, dignity-preserving techniques, and we carefully match based on personality and preferences. Most clients feel comfortable within the first few visits.
Can personal care be combined with other services?
Absolutely. Many families combine personal care with companion care, meal preparation, or respite care into a single visit. Your care plan is customized to include exactly what your loved one needs.
What training do your personal care aides receive?
All caregivers complete training in safe transfer techniques, fall prevention, infection control, and ADL assistance. They are also trained in communication skills for working with clients who have cognitive challenges or limited mobility.
