An old alert enrollment can create a false sense that a relative's household is still covered. Fayette County now directs residents to a different notification system. For a Uniontown family coordinating care, checking that route is one task; deciding who will help the person understand and follow an official instruction is another.
Start from the county's current announcement
The Fayette County Services page says Regroup replaces OnSolve/CodeRed and that the previous database could not be transferred. It encourages residents to sign up through the new route, with phone, text and email among the listed notification methods.
Use the Regroup link in that specific announcement. The same county page still contains a general footer link to CodeRed, so an older bookmark or familiar footer is not enough to establish current enrollment. If the new link presents a login page or you cannot complete enrollment, contact Fayette County Emergency Management at 724-430-1277 for the current process. Do not treat reaching a login screen as a completed registration.
Agree on who receives and who responds
With the older adult's agreement, discuss the contact method they actually use. Can they hear a call, read a text or notice an email? Ask the county which choices are available and how to verify or update a record. Relatives should use the permitted process for their own contacts rather than entering someone else's information without agreement.
Then decide what happens after a message arrives. Name the family contact who will check the instruction with the person and a backup if that contact is unavailable. A relative living elsewhere may need a local person who can help carry out the household plan. An alert does not itself dispatch a caregiver or reserve transportation.
Put actions alongside the phone numbers
Keep a short plan with the home address, family contacts and where to obtain official local instructions. Discuss how the person would communicate if their usual phone or internet connection were unavailable. Take questions about medical equipment or other clinical requirements to the healthcare team and equipment provider before an incident.
Ask the care office how a disruption could affect scheduled visits and whom the family should call about an uncovered period. Do not assume routine caregiving is emergency response. For an emergency or immediate danger, call 911 and follow official instructions.
For ordinary care coordination, use Uniontown home-care planning and our regional care contact. Share the agreed family communication plan while confirming the actual nonmedical visit schedule separately.
